Tunneling
At Rapid Plumbing, we specialize in under-slab tunneling for building drain repairs. This method allows us to access and repair pipes beneath your foundation without breaking through interior floors, minimizing disruption to your home or business.

PINPOINT LEAK DETECTION
We begin every project with a pinpoint leak detection to accurately locate breaks or issues in your building drain system. Using sewer camera inspections and hydrostatic testing, our plumbers insert a camera into your lines to visually identify cracks, leaks, root intrusions, or blockages. This precise diagnosis ensures we target only the affected areas, avoiding unnecessary excavation while saving you time and money.

Our Tunneling Process:
From Start to Finish
1. Initial Assessment and Planning After pinpointing the issue, we review your property layout to plan the shortest, safest tunnel path from an exterior entry point to the damaged pipe.
2. Permitting and Inspections We handle all necessary permits and inspections, including any required engineer letter.
3. Excavation and Tunneling Our experienced team digs an exterior access hole and hand-excavates a compact tunnel under the slab to reach the problem area.
4. Pipe Repair or Replacement Licensed plumbers access the tunnel to repair or replace sections of pipe with schedule 40 PVC and DWV fittings. New lines are securely hung and sloped for optimal flow.
5. Testing and Backfilling Once repairs are made, we conduct a final hydrostatic test on the building drain system to confirm no leaks remain. We then coordinate any required inspections.
6. Final Inspection and Cleanup Upon final inspection, we backfill the tunnel with native soil and restore the area, leaving your property clean and orderly.

Under-slab plumbing repairs require careful planning, experienced hands, and the right approach. From precise leak detection to final inspection and cleanup, Rapid Plumbing manages every step of the tunneling process with professionalism and attention to detail.
